Gaila and I talked tonight. She is going to a small school.
ME: one of the teachers was smart and wrote her name on the board before leaving the room for evals to be filled out :D
HER: lol
HER: always helps
HER: that's where you lean over to the person beside you and whisper at them
ME: most of the time they don't know either
HER: yeah, but if it makes it far enough down the row, eventually somebody will know, and it will make it back.
Big schools are such a mystery to people going to small schools, and small schools are such a mystery to people going to big schools.
Productivity time last night was somewhat fruitful. Sara can be very distracting sometimes. I realized when things got quiet that it's difficult for me to keep a good focus on something when there is no music in the background or something. When I'm being productive on my computer, I usually have something going in iTunes. I don't actively listen to it unless a good song comes up. Just having something there helps me a lot. I figure this is true with a lot of people.
I tried to get a few people together for a flash study session after church. I was perhaps the only one there who had my study materials there, and nobody else really wanted to study. But now I'm at home talking with Gaila and writing in my blog not being productive. I am requesting a productivity time again tomorrow evening/night. I have a test on Friday that I need to study for. This weekend is going to be devoted to Soc study. I have not read the book, and a result of me not reading the book has caused me to get C- grades on my previous test. I like the subject, but I need to work at it because the tests are heavy in the book material that is not covered in the class. I'm used to the classes being preached out of the book, this one threw me a loop. I should have paid attention to that.
Anyway, I'm wasting time and not doing my work. I'm going to say good night now..... Good night.
PS: Finals schedule

Productivity: tomorrow night, 9PMish, location TBA, bring food? Headphones might be good too if you like music.
Of course theres a big difference between big and small, take classes. I don't have a friggin clue what cmpsci102 or 227 or whatever the hell those numbers are, anytime I see them I have to look them up. At IHCC nobody says there in cp227 or whatever we say were in Java Class even though the official class title is Object Oriented Programming with Java or whatever. I don't think i'd ever refeer to classes by their numbers even if I went to ISU. We don't have the time or care to learn numbers that nobody even refeers to until we've graduated. We reference classes by what your actually studying than any number or anything like that.
At IHCC we use the most abbreviated form of whatever the class title is (these aren't real numbers or the exact titles, but you get the idea):
CPP227 Object Oriented programming with Java = Java Class
CPP240 CICS Programming with COBOL = CICS I
FA140 Financial Business Accounting = Accounting I
CPP150 Structured Programming = C Programming (it's what it really is)
CPP250 Web Developement with ASP = WebDev
Besides that all of my classes were in 1 building and if we had classes like English or Accounting that were not programming classes, people tended to complain and didn't like taking any class outside the realm of programming. How the heck physics will ever help you in computers I'll never know unless your doing some work for scientific institutes, but i'd tend to think that'd be in the minority.
Another productivity time sounds good to me, I was thinking of working on my startup wizard for ATX which should be included in the next build. I'll also be working on an extensive review of ATX for bugs to squash. With you guys there Im sure u'd help me from being on UT too much :-) I also need to do some planning here, Windows version of ATX is getting backed up and I need to push forward on the mac build so I have something to show at the beginning of the next semester.
